If you've been looking for a recording studio in San Antonio, you've probably seen the same options: hourly booths, home setups, and rooms where the clock starts the second you walk in. MidWav is a different kind of session. We're in New Braunfels, a straight shot up I-35 about 30 minutes from downtown, and we book by the day with the engineer included.
That trade is the whole pitch. Instead of watching a timer in town, you spend a full, unhurried day in a treated live room with wood floors and a Persian rug, tracking through Neve and UA pre-amps into a Toft Audio Designs console, with a Marshall half stack and a Gretsch kit already set up and waiting.

The control room is built around the Toft Series ATB console running into Pro Tools, monitored on PMCs. The live room has real character and natural reverb, with an isolation booth for vocals.

From downtown San Antonio take I-35 North to New Braunfels, about 30 minutes outside of rush hour. From the North Side, Schertz or Cibolo you're closer to 20. The address is on our Google listing, and the coffee is on when you pull in.

Is it worth going to a recording studio instead of recording at home?
For a demo you can shop around, a home setup can get you there. For a record you want to keep, a treated live room, a real console, a mic locker and an engineer who does this every day are what make the difference, and here they come in one session price. Do you book 2 hour sessions?
No. Our shortest session is the five-hour demo at $325, one song with a same-day mix and basic master. Short hourly blocks usually end right as the room starts to sound right, so we built the sessions to be long enough to finish something.

Is the engineer included in the price?
